The future of wave pool technology is not just a pipe dream when, in 2016, WSL Holdings, the parent company of the World Surf League acquires a majority stake in the Kelly Slater Wave Company.
The acquisition notes that, "This partnership and technology will allow for advancements in athlete training, access to surfing for people of all levels and increased fan engagement globally."
